Morning / Afternoon Devonshire Tea Cruise

 

A 2 hour morning or afternoon cruise taking in the sights and activities of Newcastle’s working Harbour and the lower Hunter River. Cruise features Live Commentary and Devonshire Tea.

Luncheon Cruise

 

A 2.5 hour cruise on Newcastle Harbour extending to the Hunter River and Kooragang Wetlands. Cruise includes buffet lunch, Live Commentary, and Complementary Tea & Coffee.


The voyage takes us past all the new precincts of the Honeysuckle development, into the Carrington Basin and along the Steelworks Channel being the working sectors of the harbour. We then enter the Stockton Channel and travel under the Stockton bridge to the mouth of the Hunter River. We enter the Hunter River a little further to find a peaceful anchoring location for our buffet lunch. After Lunch we make our way back through the harbour to the entrance of Port Hunter and make our way along the picturesque Newcastle Foreshore back to Lee Wharf.


Lunch consists of Smoked Leg Ham off the bone, Seasoned Roast Chickens, Fresh Local King Prawns, and the following salad varieties; Waldorf / Curried Rice / Gourmet Potato Salad & a Pasta Garden Salad. Complementary Tea and Coffee is also available.

Whale Watch / Wildlife Expedition


 

A 3 hour Whale Watch and Wildlife expedition including bonus Newcastle Harbour cruise. Excellent humpback whale and dolphin sighting rate (Whale Sightings May to October). Ocean going cruise including spectacular views of Stockton Beach, Sygna Wreck, Nobbys Headland, and Newcastle Beaches. Biscuits, Tea, Coffee and Live Commentary included.

Hunter River Discovery Cruise - Lunch

 

A 6.5 hour experience including a return voyage beginning with the sights of Newcastle’s working Harbour. We then cruise through the Kooragang Wetlands while enjoying Devonshire Tea, and meander along the Hunter River traveling through Hexham where the historic Hexham Bridge is opened for our passing. We arrive at our destination just in time for lunch at “The Junction Inn Hotel” on the river bank at Raymond Terrace. This cruise features Morning and Afternoon Tea on each leg of the voyage, a Hot Roast Lunch and a rest stop at “The Junction Inn Hotel”.

Hunter River Discovery Cruise - Dinner


 During daylight savings this cruise can operate in the evening for Dinner in place of Lunch. Enjoy appetizer platters on the way to the Junction Inn. After a roast meal at the hotel indulge in some tempting desserts served on the return voyage.

Ash Island Luncheon Cruise

 

Discover the waterways around Newcastle on a 4.5 hour cruise exploring Newcastle Harbour and travelling on the Hunter River to Ash Island located in the Kooragang Wetlands. This cruise includes a buffet lunch served at Ash Island, Informative Commentary on board the vessel, Complementary Tea & Coffee, and a guest speaker from the Koorangang Wetlands Authority on arrival at Ash Island.

 

The voyage takes in all the sights of our regular lunch cruise however it cruises a little further up the Northern Arm of the Hunter River towards Hexham and stops at the Ash Island public reserve and jetty to observe and learn about the wetlands. Lunch consists of Smoked Ham off the bone, Seasoned Roast Chickens, Fresh Local King Prawns, and the following salad varieties; Waldorf / Curried Rice / Gourmet Potato Salad & a Greek Pasta Salad.

Historic Morpeth Cruises

 

Morpeth, situated on the banks of the Hunter River, was once the gateway to inland Australia and one of the busiest trade ports in NSW. Today you can re-live the historic voyage from Newcastle to Morpeth in modern day style and comfort with NOVA Cruises.


We depart Newcastle Harbour and continue to cruise through the Kooragang wetlands, Tomago, Hexham, Raymond Terrace, Dunkenfield, and Hinton to arrive shortly after at Morpeth. We allow for a 2 hour stop over in Morpeth to explore shop and dine. This cruise features morning Devonshire tea, Afternoon tea, local produce tasting and informative commentary. Guests will also receive a copy of the official Morpeth heritage walk guide, a township map, and entry to the Morpeth Museum. The Morpeth voyage takes approximately 3 hours each way. Allowing for our 2 hour stopover the tour will usually take between 8 to 8.5 hours to complete.

Our vessel “Bay Connections 1” is the perfect size to comfortably accommodate members of your tour group (Vessel capacity 57 guests within the Harbour and 47 guests on ocean going cruises). To help accommodate any smaller groups you may have we are currently reducing our minimum numbers from 30 to only 25 full fare paying passengers (Fri/Sat/Sun during Nov/Dec our minimum guest number remains as 30). Our vessel has a fully stocked and licensed bar onboard which will be in operation for the duration of all cruises. There will be a minimum of 3 crew members onboard to care for you and your guests.
